Hi there

How can I view hits to the web page(s) I host on my SME server?

Basically our CEO wants to know how many people have been visiting our website we host ourselves.

EDIT : I've managed to get some useful statistics with The Webalizer.

However, I've noticed that SME server only keeps web logging data for 2 months, is there any way I can view older logs, or do they get deleted? If they get deleted, which configuration file do I need to adjust so that it will take longer between deletions?

Older files get deleted by a program named logrotate, some of the scripts are in /etc/e-smith/events/logrotate. A script named S75purge-old-logs deletes the old logs.

I use awstats to count the webhits, and it works fine for me. Awstats counts hits and keeps the information in files, so you won't need to keep the logs so long.
