ntop fails: connection refused
« on: August 08, 2005, 09:54:06 PM »
Hi

I allmost haven't touched my SME 6 server for over year, just used it as a gateway/file-/web-/mailserver, and have had ntop installed all the time, and it has been working. When trying now, it gives this error in IE on the LAN:

*While trying to retrieve the URL: *http://imcorp.dk:3000/
*
*The following error was encountered:
*
*Connection Failed
*The system returned:
*
*    (111) Connection refused
*The remote host or network may be down. Please try the request again

As I said, it has been working before, I just haven't used i for quite a while.

At some point, allmost a year ago, I installed updates from (I think it was):
http://sme.swerts-knudsen.dk/downloads/Updates/6.0.1/

I also installed ClamAV and "Monitor SpamAssassin with MRTG" and "Monitor ClamAv and Amavis with MRTG"

from swerts-knudsen.

But I cant tell you if ntop stopped working before or after installing all this.

And I have CUPS installed, but this time I'm quite sure ntop has worked after that.

Any hints where I could look for solution?

regards
Ekhaat

Just looking at howtos's etc I found this

Finally you can reach ntop at https://yourserver:3001

are you sure you are using the correct port and https instead of http

Thanks, but back when it worked, I used a favorite shortcut, and thats the one thats not working now.

I tried your suggestion, http and https, 3000 and 3001, nothing seems to work
