PPTP out thorugh SME 6.5

I have a problem with PPTP out through SME (again). I get the 619 error.

Here is my setup:

WinXP (at home) -> SME 6.5RC1 -> Zyxel router -> internet -> Cisco VPN (at work) -> Windows Server

If I use the Cisco client at my desktop, I don't have any problems. If I use the Microsoft client, I get the 619.

I had the same problem in 2004 with SME 6.01-01 and 5.6. I tried before that with 5.5 and did not have any problems.

If I bypass SME, it works.

WinXP is fully updated. The router uses latest firmware. The router is configured to simply pass all traffic to SME. My collegaues (without SME) do not have problems, so the Microsoft client and the Cisco VPN works.

I do not want to use the Cisco client, as it introduces other problems.

it is a problem with the 2.4 kernel modules and the pptp modules.  I have some boxes that work fine and I have some that don't.  It is usually an Intel box that works fine and an AMD box that doesn't.  Have you gone into the xp network folder, gone to the properties of the vpn connection, clicked on networking, clicked on settings, and under ppp settings, made sure that all three checkboxes are checked.  This has helped on some of the boxes.

Thanks - but it did not help

Thank you for the advice. Unfortunately it did not help. There was one checkbox that was unchecked, but it dit not help checking it.

It don't really understand the problem. SME is not (or should not) play a role here. It should only pass the communication on.

I am using a Windows client communcating with a Windows Server.

Do anyone know what the problem is?
