Read Receipt
« on: August 05, 2005, 03:31:52 PM »
I installed an sme 6.0.1 server at an small office. They noticed when they reveiced an e-mail the 'read receipt'was not send to the sender.

I did some tests myself and found this to be true. Could there be something i missed.

I tested sending internal mail using Horde, Twiggi, Fetchmail and without fetchmail.

It's not a big problem but it would be nice if everthing works as it's suppossed to.

...and everything works as supposed to! :)
How are you reading the email? Pop or Imap?
You won't get the receipt if you use Imap and that's the nature of it.

It does. "Read receipt" is an optional feature. Much (most?) mail software doesn't support it, because it's an invasion of privacy. You should never expect "Read receipt" to be honoured.
