Topic: Restore problem

Hi,
A colleague and I both have Sme server 6.0 beta 2.
Both servers are nearly identical.
My friend and I decided to test his backup by trying to restore on my now unused server.
Clean install of server software.
Run restore from server manager only runs for approx 2 minutes then stops as if it is all done.
There is supoosed to be 8 Gb backed up so:
1) how can I see what files are actually on the tape?
2) why they won't restore as they should?
3) do I need to do something else because of different machines?
4) Can I force the files to restore manually?


I a newbie and need some help please.

look in /var/log/messages

what kind of tape are you restoring from?

To view the contents do this:
mt -f /dev/nst0 rewind
mt -f /dev/nst0 fsf 1
flexbackup -list

If your tape is IDE, then nht0

BTW it is a Sony DDS4 SCSI drive.
