Topic: Freeze during 7B1 install

Hello SME users

I used to run 6.0.1 and it work fine. I install 7b1 and config take a long time between steps. When booting, the screen freeze on the "Activating Configuratrion Settings" screen.

Did somebody can help?

DELL PowerEdge 1600SC
Xeon 2.4
254Mo
2 x 80Go Raid 1

Maybe you can add more details to the bug report to help  developers track down the cause.

Yes it's the same symptoms.

I've just installed 7b1 on some very old, very basic hardware (PII 350 with a couple of 46Gb IDE hard drives) and the install was up and running within a few minutes so maybe the problem is related to newer hardware, fast harddisk subsystem?

Have you logged your suspected buck on the bugtracker?

Thanks a lot, I have to report the bug, and maybe I have to find out an old system ...

It's take about 45 minutes to boot with v7.0 beta1, the same when upgrading to v7.0 beta2, but with a fresh v7.0 beta2 installation, the booting time is now only 55 secondes. Great ...
