I checked out the cpuinfo file and it says siblings 1 that is the only thing that I could see that may show more than one cpu. Also tops doesn't really show 2 processors, is that normal? (you may properly assume that I booted in smp mode and have read the previos posts to this thread). Thank you.
I'm running an old Compaq Prosignia, and I am in the same situation: I have no idea whether the second processor is being used. The server boots in smp mode, but the only indication that I can see is the "siblings=1" in the cpuinfo file. Also, I'm not sure whether that means there are two processors or not.
What I do know, is that SME5.5 and lower definately did *not* see the second processor on this server. If 6.5 does detect the second processor, then something has been changed to make SME more compatible with Prosignia hardware. Would that be the case, I wonder?

PS Just found this in the dmesg log:
"SMP motherboard not detected."
Seems to me that SME does not detect dual CPU support on the Compaq prosignia. It never has, from version 4.x until at least version 6.5. I haven't tried v7 though.
