group permissions

Newbie warning. :)

I currently have a SME 6.01 test box running as a PDC. The majority of users would not be on the Domain but accessing certain shared folders. Can anyone suggest the simplest way to accomplish the following.

Group 1 = managers
Group 2 = accounting
Group 3 = salesmen

I want an ibay for which Group 1 has read and write access, Group 2 has read-only access, and Group 3 has no access. I've RTM and searched the forums without finding a suitable answer. What I can't seem to manage is to give a larger group read-only access to a group's ibay or the subfolders within, without also giving it to anyone with an account on the PDC. Is this even feasible with SME?  Should I just give up and let them keep using a windows share?

Thanks, Dave

After reading some more, I'm reasonable sure linux permissions will not work this way directly.  In this case, I'm guessing my best solution will be to have passworded FTP access, and to provide that to the accounting users.  I'm aware that FTP transmits the password "in the clear".  The information being accessed isn't of a confidential nature, but we just don't want certain employees having ready access.  Anyway, most of them think FTP is a brand of motor oil. ;)

I hope this helps anyone else in my situation.
