My install goes fine but after removing the install disk and the system reboots then hangs   and the only thing on the screen is an L.

Is it a drive issue or hardware issue ?

The drive is a 160 gig seagate drive. The mb is a abit board that im about to replace later on today.  How can I get past this point ?

I did a search and found this

There are many causes for this problem, which is a symptom of failure to load the second level of the LILO bootloader. The usual cause of this problem is a bad disc geometry definition. Many solutions can be found in the Linux Guide for the beginners (Linux Newbie Guide),

but from thier I did not find anything that would help me .......

Nevermind I think I found the problem .

1 The drive was set as a slave drive. Changed to master using jumper
2. Bios on board was only seeing 139. Flashed bios now it sees 160gig.

So one of the above fixed the loading issue after I reinstalled it.
