Heavy Logs (dnscache)

Hello,

I am running SME 6.5 Server/gateway with 4 W2k PC's since a couple of weeks.

Browsing through the logs to figure out what it all means, I find that the "dnscache" logs sometimes has more than 30 entries with the same time stamp (same second) and that very frequently (like 10 times a minute) even if there is only on PC in use.
Is this normal? My server runs on very modest hardware (PII 350) and the information in the dnscache logs seem of doubtful use.
Anyway of reducing the amount of data written?

Thanks in advance

Doesn't sound unusual to me.

Not easily, and certainly not without risking loss of data which might prove useful some day. Do you have any evidence that dnscache logging is causing you a problem?

Thanks for the answer, :-)

Apart from the very frequent log entries, no appearant problems, processor activity usually at a few %. I am just not used to so many signs of activity, when nothing much really happens. I accept your answer, and try to learn abt something else.
