How do you update GLIBC on SME 6.5?
« on: September 28, 2005, 01:30:31 PM »
I am setting up a DOD Source server on my SME Server 6.5 and get the following error.

Quote
Failed to open bin/dedicated_i486.so (/lib/i686/libpthread.so.0: version GLIBC_2.3.2' not found (required by bin/tier0_i486.so))

I beleive that it is because GLIBC needs to be updated.

How do I update it?

Thanks in advance.

You don't. Unless you really know what you are doing.

Instead you should look for a version of your program which is compatible with RedHat 7.3. Or wait for SMEServer 7.0.

Yep I just upgraded to v7.0 beta 4 and it works now. Although e-mail didn't... I'm Pretty sure I just screwed up a setting though. So I installed v7.0 beta 4 from scratch and now everything works.

v7.0 is gonna kick ass when the release version is done. Can't wait.

I'm impressed with the beta 4 already.

Please, please, please, everybody, report any malfunctions to the bug tracker at http://smeserver.sourceforge.net/.

Malakai, I know you've re-installed, but please report in what way "e-mail didn't work" in as much detail as you can remember, to the bug tracker. Upgrades should work smoothly. If it doesn't, that's a bug which needs to be fixed.
