I recently upgraded from 5.6 DEV to 6.5, I wanted to use the port forwarding option of 6.5 to redirect port 80 traffic to another server.

My problem is that it is accepting the change, the rule is there, but it is not forwarding the port, it is still  trying to access the primary hmtl dir on the 6.5 server.

What am I missing here??

If you are trying to access the resource from your internal network, then port forwarding won't (can't) work. Port forwarding only works if you access from the outside.

The current setup I have...

SME 6.0.1 Webserver *.*.*.5

SME 6.5 Emailserver/router(PPPOE) *.*.*.2

I am trying to forward port 80 requests from the router to the webserver.

I have been running E-Smith boxes since release 3. For the past 6 years, I have been running hardware based routers, (linksys).

The problem I am having with the hardware based routers is that they cannot handle the amount of requests passed through it and it crashes. I am on my third linksys router, this year!!

I am tired of the crashes, and have finally upgraded my email box to 6.5 to use the port forwarding.

Any help Charlie would be great.
