Manual migration of qmail/dovcot
« on: November 06, 2005, 09:35:30 AM »
I am trying to help a business which was using SME until their drive started failing. The system  files are corrupt now, but I was able to copy datat (including email).

They have not upgraded lately - 5.7beta6.

Here is the problem.  This is what they email files looked like.
SME 5.7 filename - 1104773052.30997.saltmine,U=2303,W=3624_2,RS
SME 6.0.1 filename -
1131243147.1455.saltmine:2,

Any ideas how to convert them in quickly...or where I can get an ISO for this old version?

I don't know of any such version. We've had 5.5, 5.6 and 6.0, but no 5.7

You don't need to do anything for this - the filenames change as the IMAP server sets flags like "Seen". "Read", and so on.

- Copy the data across. The list of areas you need is coded in /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/esmith/Backup.pm in the function restore_list()
- Ensure that the users own the files in their directories
- signal-event post-upgrade
- signal-event reboot
