Having problems with SME 7 Beta? All the answers are here!

Please don't post questions about problems you are having with SME7 Beta.  The only place to report problems is the new contribs.org Bugzilla bug tracker.  That way there is a record of all issues.  And please be prepared to provide follow-up information if you submit a bug, so use a valid email address when you create a bugzilla account.
https://wiki.contribs.org/bugzilla

You can also find important information and known issues on these pages:

seems to be very few problems reported with 7, which is very cool. I'm running it at home because my linksys router went tits up a week ago.
Looking forward to the final release...

Sure, many are feature requests, but 153 open bugs is not "very few".

But, the more bugs reported the better!  They are valuable when closed as we can document known issues, and as well as you can use the search function on the bug tracker to see if you're experiencing a problem someone else has reported already.

I'm trying to download and burn the V7 Beta iso using a Windows box.  How do I validate the md5 checksum?

Thanks, Greg - I never saw that before. Nice pgm! I want to try it next download.

For those that prefer the command line, there's one here: http://www.etree.org/md5com.html

There's instructions:

Found that it won't install properly on a Toshiba Z300, due to the buildin pcmcia slot.

6.0.1 and 6.5 installs like they were build for the machine :-)

Will see if I can narrow down the reason a bit.

Ok so I admit it, I only installed it on a PII 266 to see if it would - and it did and it out performed my windows server as I expected it to.

Questions for you though.  Not bugs - I know what they are - they are the little things that I keep having to pick off my screen :D

1) Has anyone started crossing any apps for it yet
2) Groooouuuupppppwaaaaareee!!!1
3) Who supplies chargeable support for v6.0 (cheap uk based London based nice and friendly chaps who can't do enough for you and charge so little it is a pleasure to pay them kind of support)
4) when is 7 due!!

Thanks

Sharif

If anything doesn't work correctly, please report  via the bug tracker - link is to the left. Please describe exactly what you have done and exactly what you see in response.

The bug tracker is the place for that problem report and the followup information.
