While respecting any maintenance work or events beyond control, I believe a post notice 6 hours in advance is a bit short.

Looking at this community, spanning 24 hours of time zones and professional business usage, a 'outage policy' would be in order.

I agree in general with you, but since this community is getting organised to be an 'official' entity towards the community, a certain level of availability/profesionalism would be in order. Ruffdogs showed this from the beginning, I just was mentioning the short pre-notice period of the outage. No offense ment to anybody here.
