Topic: ident failing running bitchx on server

Hi,

I'm attempting to run BitchX on the E-Smith server and the server I'm connecting to requires an ident response to allow connection but it fails to receive one.

mIRC on a client PC connected through e-smith works fine btw ...

This is a clean install of e-smith 5.0 with bitchx (and required libs) being the only addition (and using all available blades).

Am I able to change something in xidentd.conf or is there something more evil I need to do to get this working.

I've tried altering xidentd.conf to include midentd which I tried installing by updating this file in the /etc/ but lost all changes after reboot.

Any help would be appreciated in resolving this 'simple' problem

Got the same problem with en eggdrop running on my e-smith box (4.1.2)
