Good afternoon,

I have noticed that since I am running 7b9, it NO longer asks for the users passwords.     It used to, in 7b8.

I have checked the settings:

POP3 server access    Allow private
IMAP server access    Allow private
Webmail access    Allow HTTPS (secure)

E-mail retrieval mode    Standard (SMTP)
SMTP authentication    Allow SSMTP (secure)

Am I missing something or is this a bug?

Please report anything unusual with the beta series to the bug tracker, and only there. The developers are the most likely to be able to help, and we would like to spend time developing and fixing bugs rather than weeding potential problems from forum posts.

We are quite serious when we say that it takes us less time to deal with duplicate and non-bug reports than to deal with (often duplicate) postings in the forums. Please help us to get SME7 finished by reporting issues in the bug tracker, and only there.

Thanks,

Gordon

I didn't file a bug report because I didn't know if it was a bug or a configuration problem. I restarted the mail server and it's working now.

It's a bug only if it can it be reproduced, and at this point in time, I can't reproduce it. So no filing.

As above, please let the development team have the choice of determining what is a bug.

No, please log any issues you find. Intemittent problems are the hardest to track and they are the ones most likely to be lost in various forum posts. If we have them in the bug tracker, the development team may see a pattern and collect the reports into one issue.
