I have tried to install Dansguardian on my E-smith box but I can't get it to run.
Here is what I have done so far.

rpm -Uvh DansGuardian-2.2.1.i386 downloaded from DansGuardian.org from the 7.1 directory. Installed with no errors.
rpm -Uvh DansGuardian-setup-0.1-2.norarch downloaded from it.dungog.net Installed with no errors. Rebooted the system, checked the Server-Manager found a very nice Web page, checked the transparent proxy box and restart Dansguardion box, clicked save.

Tried to surf to an illegal site instead of receiving a warning browser states site unreachable. Okay so I tried a good site same results, tried rebooting the machine again same problem. Tried running DansGuardian off the command line it returns the following errors.

[root@e-smith dansguardian]# Error reading file:
bash: Error: command not found
[root@e-smith dansguardian]# Error reading file:
bash: Error: command not found
[root@e-smith dansguardian]# Error opening bannedregexpurllist
bash: Error: command not found
[root@e-smith dansguardian]# Error parsing the dansguardian.conf file or other DansGuardian configuration files
bash: Error: command not found
[root@e-smith dansguardian]#

I unchecked transparent proxy and I can surf but I would really like to be able to get this to work so I don't have to worry so much about my childrens use of the computer.

If anyone has got this to work I would appreciate some hints.

not so good, this is an old version,
dg-2.2.1 added more options which dg told you about below
>Error opening bannedregexpurllist

e-smith-dansguardian-0.1 doesn't overwrite the dg .conf files
so your problem won't happen again for future versions

I offer a supported version which has a panel to tweak most options
and i will keep it up to date

see it.dungog.net for both

yes, and it's great at blocking adds
