Installing SME Server V. 5 with Hardware RAID 1 Mirroring

I try to install the SME Server with Hardware RAID 1 Mirroring. Beginning instalation, an error stating that NO VALID DEVICES WERE FOUND ON WHICH TO CREATE NEW FILESYSTEMS occurs. Has anyone installed the SME Server with hardware RAID 1 Mirroring?

I installed V5 and V5.1b3 with no problems on my server running a 3Ware IDE RAID card. The software recognised the card, installed the appropriate driver and just ran.

What kind of RAID controller are you running?

Received identical error when trying to install V5.0 on MSI K7T266 motherboard with Raid hardware. Eventually gave up , moved HDDs (2 X IBM 60MB) to IDE1 and installed software version of Raid 1 mirroring. Would have preferred to use hardware option. Is software option supposed to be better?

It's an IBM Server Raid with SCSI Hard Drives.
