I use this feature a lot, which allows to give an IP and a hostname to each system on the LAN by it's MAC address. How hard would be to add another field for comment about each particular machine.

Not hard at all. Please raise this as a New Feature Request in SME Server Future.

BTW: I'm happy for simple, self-contained NFRs to go straight to the bug tracker. Such small tasks would be good ones for new developers to do.

The standard Hostnames and addresses panel already allows each host on the LAN to have a hostname and IP address associated with the MAC address.
