I have just set up a SME 7.0rc02 server and configured it. I had not entered any Usernames or Password during this but now when I reboot, it asks me for a fileserver login and a password.

What do I enter here as I have not set either during setting the server up.

Didn't it ask for you admin password during the setup?

I'm about 94% certain that, although you are asked for various configuration details during installation, it doesn't ask you to define the admin/root password until after the first post-install (automatic) reboot.  Are you sure it wasn't asking you to define the password?

Once installed it asks you to reboot, upon first loading it comes to bootstrap and first screen is to set your root/admin password it then ask's you to confirm password...have you seen that?

Have you read the manual ??

What you are seeing is the console logon.

To configure the server further you need to access the server-manager from a PC on the LAN by going to http://ip.address.of.server/server-manager or just http://www/server-manager

You will need to log in with the username admin and the password you set up when you first configured the server.

But please read the manual first.

Thanks for all of your help. the problem was I wasn't using the word admin as the user name. I looked through the manual and couldn't find reference to that. Everything is OK now and thanks to everyone for being so patient and helpfull.
