Need help please!!!
« on: April 07, 2006, 11:20:42 AM »
I have  a major problem which coincided with upgrading to SME 7 RC1 !

Before I begin I will say, this may not be anything to do with SME 7!!

I am running out of ideas however so am hoping someone can help!

I use Openexchange as our incoming IMAP and Postfix server. I have the SME server delegating the mail role to the OX (openexchange server). Until Monday this set up had worked perfectly, on Monday I upgraded the SME server through Yum update from SME 7 Pre1 to SME 7 RC1 and I definitely ran the special commands afterwards as instructed during the upgrade, before anyone asks!

Since then every outbound mail we send is bounced-back with the 'Too many hops' message. I realise this is usually a DNS error but since I have not changed any of our DNS settings I can't see why this would happen. The SME upgrade is the only thing I have done.
Since the upgrade, in the mail.warn log on the  OX server I get a message similar to the following:

Apr  7 09:54:22 openxchange postfix/qmgr[28944]: warning: connect to transport 192.168.0.4: No such file or directory

This occurs every time there is an outgoing mail waiting. I have tried this with both the upgraded and newly installed one (as mentioned below) with no change. Pointing the OX server to either srver with FQDN or IP results in the same. I will also be posting this to the OX forum too.

In SME 7 I have subsequently turned off the SMTP Proxy and Spam and Virus filters.
Last night I tried installing a new SME server with SME 7 RC1 (not an upgrade this time) and successfully sent a mail out for the first time in a week! Unfortunatley, this morning it is back to the 'Too many hops' problem!

I love SME 7 and am perfectly willing to accept that this problem may be nothing to do with it but am getting a bit desperate!

Help!!

***Update***

Re-installed new server with SME 7 Beta8 (the only version I had to hand) and it is now working again, at the moment anyway.
