Topic: Web browsing drops after a while

Hi

Since I did the latest update about 2 weeks ago something strange is happening with the system.

After a while of normal running ... this could be hrs or even days ... the web part of things seems to drop and nothing seems to go through the proxy.

E-mails etc still run no probs ... just anything to do with web browsing.
Ppp0 interface looks like it is still up and I can access the server-manager no probs.

In the messages log I don't see anything that jumps out at me.

Could someone please let me know where to start looking to solve this.

I didn't load any other addons on for ages so I can't see that being the problem.

What is the comand to restart the proxy or waht ever needs restarting so I don't have to re-boot that whole server to get things up and running again?

Ok

It just did it again.

2 times in 3 hrs.

Has something to do with squid ... I have tech-geeks squid properties installed ... tryed to flush the cashe while browsing died and it came up with a failure.

I restarted squid and then flushed cache ok that time ... I noticed it hapened as someone was trying to update Adobe acrobat 7 ... don't know if that has anything to do with it.

After I restarted squid and flushed cache web browsing was back on line.

Going to keep an eye n this for a while and see what happens.
