[ANNOUNCE] SAIL-2.1.11-209
« on: May 29, 2006, 04:13:03 PM »
Hi Everyone

2.1.11-209 has just gone up onto the ftp site.  There's quite a bit in it, a lot of it suggested by your good selves so thanks for that.  Here are the main items....

    - Changed the menu name "speed dials"  to "aliases"
    - Added true hunt groups (internal only) to aliases
    - Allow a ring delay and outcome on no-pickup to be specified for aliases - including group dial and hunt group dial.
    - Added operator and DISA to IVR menus to make them consistent with Trunks (thanks JonB)
    - Added voicemail option to trunk routes (as above)
    - Changed queue announce to be every 30 seconds (was every 5 seconds - we were driving people nuts!)
    - Added message instructions to voicemail
    - Added user defined globals feature - see it in headers (thanks Will)
    - Separation of user name and peer name from key (thanks Will)
    - Removed pickup group from extension creation - just defaults to callgroup 1, pickupgroup 1.
    - Added Aastra phone series (9112i, 9133i & 480i) - full provisioning for these units in the next out.
    - Added UTStarcomm F1000 WiFi Phone (you gotta get one of these!)
    - Added SPA-941
    - Added general devices for IAX and SIP (use them if you have a phone we don't have a template for)
    - Added Faktortel IAX carrier

So...

A fair bit for you all to test.

rpm is available here - http://selintra.com/docs/cgi-bin/view/Main/DownLoadPages

Standard rpm -Uvh to apply the new version and then run navigation-conf to update the menu names...

Code: [Select]
/etc/e-smith/events/actions/navigation-conf

We're hoping to get the BRI release out next week and it should include QOS and a little Port manager for server-gateway boxes.

Kind Regards

Selintra

Hello Jester

The initial out is designated 2.1.12 "Cologne" - :-)

It will initially be for any Junghanns based cards plus any HFC based cards.  We've just finished testing with a couple of $30 German HFC Cards (from "Billion") and they work just fine.   Not sure if we will support NT mode in the initial out but you'll definitely get TE/CPE.  If someone has an old ISDN Phone they'd like to contribute for NT testing then drop us a line at admin@selintra.com.  ISDN Phones are very rare in the UK.

Kind Regards

Selintra

I don't know much about ISDN, so apologies if this doesn't make sense, but do you need a phone to test NT mode? Can't you just hook it up to an exchange line on a PBX?

Hi Will,

Yes we can.  But it would just be nice to test with an ISDN handset.  They are very common in Europe, particularly in Germany and the low countries and we've had lots of requests to run a low cost HFC board so people can hook them up.

Best

HI All,

We had a problem reported last night on 209.  The symptom is that SPA3000 trunk support will fail if you change any of the definitions in an existing trunk definition or add a new spa-3k trunk.  We recreated the problem on our reference machine last night and developed a fix which can be found on the ftp site under FixModules/functions.  It is a single module replacement for sarktrunk.

If you have already installed 209, you have two options.

OPTION 1

You can regress 209 by removing it (with rpm -e) and reapplying your previous release with rpm -Uvh - you will not lose any data but there is a small chance that any TDM FXS (Extensions) you have may be reassigned a different extension number after the re-install.  This should not happen but we think it may be a possibility.  Should this happen on your site contact us at admin@selintra.com and we will give you a further fix to remedy the situation.

OPTION 2

You can download and apply the FixModule as follows..

Download /FixModules/functions/sarktrunk and save it to /etc/e-smith/web/sarktrunk.

SITUATION

We have pulled 209 from the ftp site for the moment.  We will continue to test the fixed module throughout the rest of today into tomorrow and publish a new release - probably 212, later in the week.

Thanks and kind regards
