« on: May 06, 2006, 10:32:37 PM »
Hi Folks

I have installed my SME7.0 server on my network - it is working as server only mode at the moment - i would like to down load som rpm's, but as my sevrer is behind a firwall - i need to use a proxy server for internet access.

How do i and where do i put my proxy server in to the server so i can access the internet -

Bit new to this

Thanks

Log into the console as "admin", either from keyboard/monitor directly attached or via SSH session; choose "Configure this server" and run through the setup.  You will at some point have a chance to enter the IP address of your proxy server or firewall as your server's gateway.

I must respectfully disagree; I just ran through the configuration of a 7.0RC2 machine and the setting is on a screen labeled "Select gateway IP address".  My test machine is server-only and accesses the Internet just fine.

Sorry

Yes i can select the gateway, but i also need to select a proxy server to gain aceess outside our firewall - as i work in an eduaction establishment, thing are tied down pretty tight.

Yes.. this is my problem also. Since I am behind Censornet proxy I need to give/enter  user and password for auth to the proxy server. How can I do that??
