Troubles with ezmlm
« on: January 15, 2002, 09:06:47 AM »
I'm having amazing troubles with ezmlm mailing lists, I've spent all day reading through developer mailing lists, ezmlm sites etc, but just cannot get it to work.

I have successfully set up a standard mailing list and all works well, however I am unable to successfully set up an announce mailing list.

I have read through several posts on the developer mailing list that seemed to indicate a similar problem, but even the replies didn't help.

I used Gordon's suggested config flags, and I couldn't even updated the mailing list in the e-smith-manager, I kept getting an error.

When I set up the mailing list, as per all the instructions, (ie, create the list, set o and m flags, adding my email address as a moderator, using sudo -u ezmlm, etc etc), I have two subscribed users (also using the sudo -u ezmlm command), but I cannot get any posts to the mailing list.  When either of the users try posting, (one of the users is the moderator) I get a failure notice back with a fatal error in ezmlm-gate.  The error says that the file does not exist... but doesn't say what file!!

Can anyone please help... surely it can't be that difficult can it??   I have upgraded to the latest e-smith-ezmlm (rel 19) from the contrib section of the ftp site... but nothing makes any difference.

Thank you for any suggestions or advice!

Nick

I had the same problems until is found:

www.shiloh.stclair.k12.il.us/bk/esmith/Ezmlm.htm

It walks you through a very slick mailing list integration of ezmlm for e-smith.

Once it is installed, you can manage it through the e-smith-manager web interface.
