Migrate SME 7.0rc2 to SME 7.0rc2
« on: May 17, 2006, 08:19:59 AM »
I had reciently upgraded my server to SME 7.0rc2, then one of the hard drives started failing (raid 1). I have also been having a couple of other hardware issues with this server (not related to the os). I have a fair number of users and data, and am looking for a quick and easy way to migrate to a new box I built.

I want to bring everything possible, ssl cert, a couple custom templates, etc.

I am considering rsync, I need to know the best point to start.

The old server is still running, and I wan to do this before it fails.

Thanks in advance

Bob

I used the last script in this thread
http://forums.contribs.org/index.php?topic=31159.0
and it worked quite well. I had to do a little reconfiguration in the admin panel. (different nic), and had to import my user mysql data, and a couple custom template fragments and I was good to go.
