Every restart requires a physical button push power off and back on to complete. That seriously complicates remote management.  Is there a quick fix?

form the command line:

signal-event reboot

It's that easy!

That is one way to do a restart, thanks.

But my problem is that the retart is incomplete. The server shuts down, and doesn't come back up until I power off and power back on. Sorry if I wasn't clear.

My server is down now because I installed updates that required an automatic restart. I'm out of town and until I get back to push the power button twice, it is dead.

If you installed updates  then hit the reconfigure button that will do...

signal-event post-upgrade
signal-event reboot

Therefore it should reboot as normal and in your case it's not so could it be BIOS incorrectly setup? or hardware problem?

I have a few servers and they reboot as normal after hitting the reconfigure button

I found a note in the manual that suggests that the problem is BIOS. (Basically turn off on-board virus protection.) I will try that as soon as I get my hands on the machine. Thanks

I found an entry in the BIOS Power control that looked questionable and now the machine reboots.  Thanks everyone.

I had no idea there were so many Remote switch devices. Thanks.
