Topic: Graphical Shell?

I once ran across a command that produced a text-based graphical shel similar to what was produced by the old DOS 'shell' command.  I know it worked in E-Smith, but I can't remember the command.  Can Anyone tell me what it is. I have searched teh web and can't find it in any NHF's or How-to's or other help/Manual files.
