Hello all,
We've just sent a bunch of asterisk language sound packs up to the smeserver mirrors. You will shortly be able to get them from here...
http://mirror.contribs.org/smeserver//contribs/selintra/RPMS/languagepacksThese packs should work with any smeserver asterisk install (even the one from the other guys
), as long as it is at asterisk rel 1.2 or above. Simply download the rpm you want and install it using rpm -Uvh. You then need to set the language parameter on each of the channels you want to use this language on. In SAIL simply add the follwing tuple to the header files for sip.conf, iax.conf and zapata.conf ...
language=xx
Where xx is the the iso abbreviation for the language (en, fr, de, nz).
Press save (or commit if you have 2.1.13) and that's it.
For other asterisk implementations you'll have to read the packagers' instructions as to how you modify sip, IAX and zap headers.
We've initially put up packs for UK english (en-uk), German (de-de), French (fr-fr) and Kiwi (en-nz) because these claim to be complete gpl implementations. The quality of each varies considerably so don't blame us if they aren't as good as you'd like. The en-uk recordings are excellent. The other three less so to our ears but you can be the judge. We haven't fully tested any but the uk one so wyhiwyg (what you hear is what you get)
If you have gpl sound libraries of your own and you'd like us to package them then zip 'em up and send 'em to admin@selintra.com. Or, better yet - we'll post the spec files and you can pack your own!!
Kind Regards
Selintra
