SME 6.0.1 Raid 5 Upgrade to 7.0 PROBLEM
« on: August 01, 2006, 07:07:59 PM »
Hi,

I have an existing 6.0.1 with raid 5. SME detected the raid driver, and the raid 5 config as a single drive. BTW, the server is dell 2550.

I tried to upgrade to 7.0, and I got this message "Disk not found". The raid driver was detected, and I pressed continue, then it came out with about a page of error message basically saying that it can not be installed.

I suspected one of the following:
1. The 7.0 doc mentioned that raid 5 configuration will only be the data. The system files will be raid 1.
2. My 6.0.1 is pretty much unmodified except for ClamAV, SpamAssassin, and the Email Blocking (for multiple domain handling).

I have hundreds of users, so I think upgrading is my only choice. Can anybody give me some pointer? Thanks.
