chroot help
« on: September 21, 2006, 12:08:53 AM »
I just did a fresh install of SME 7.0 final . I installed smeserver-remoteuseraccess-1.2-6.noarch from dungog.net .  I created a group. I created seven users. I created an ibay. I created six directories in /home/e-smith/files/ibays/<ibayname>/files.  I changed the ownership of each directory I created to a specific user.  All users are in the same group and all directories are of that group. All users have access to the ibay. I need six of the users to have full access to only there own directory and the other user to have full access to all six of those directories.
I want to chroot the user that needs full access to all six to /home/e-smith/ibays/<ibyname>/files
and the individual users to /home/e-smith/ibays/<ibayname>/files/<username>

It does not get saved in the chroot panel. It gives me an operation successful but doesnt show up in the chroot path. And when i ftp in with any user it goes to the original default home directory for that user.  If I choose one of the default drop down selections in the chroot panel it will show up in the chroot path and work. It will not work if I type something that isnt in that dropdown in the box below it.  Any ideas?

Reinstalled SME 7.0 final  Reinstalled the dungog chroot rpm.
Created one user. I cant chroot this user anywhere by typing the path in. I can by using the drop down. Does this version work with 7.0 final?
