Sipura or Linksys SPA 3000?
« on: September 26, 2006, 04:30:44 PM »
Has anyone used the the Linksys branded SPA3000 with SAIL/Asterisk?
I am only asking because my mate in the UK cannot get a Sipura branded one, even places advertising them are sending out Linksys ones. I know they are meant to be the same but I did have trouble with a PAP2 and no problems with a Sipura SPA2000 and I am not sure if it was the PAP2 or the fact that I unlocked it from Vonage. Any feed back is appreciated.

Regards,
Del

The two units are the same - only cosmetic differences.

Both will provision with Sail.

Hi Selintra,

Thanks for the info :D
Could you tell me if I can alter the timeout on my Sipura 2000? What happens is if I lift up the handset and don't dial the number quickly (very quickly) I get a fast dial tone, like a busy dial tone and have to hang up and start again   I have tried a couple of different handsets and it is still the same so I assume this is a setting in the SPA2000 or asterisk may be ? Thanks.

Del

Its a timeout in the 2000 (and all Sipura ATA's and phones).  It recognises two which it calls (if I remember rightly) long delay and short delay.  You can play around with them to get the delay you want.  In the end it's a trade off between having to dial quickly or waiting for it to do something once you've finished.   There's a really good sipura forum on Voxilla if you want to learn more about your "sip2k" and how to get the best from it.

Kind Regards

Selintra
