Topic: Complete backup - to USB drive?

Hrm... running into a bit of a problem here:

I would like to make a complet backup of the system, but the Server Manager tells me that I have to much data (4 gigs) to make a reliable backup to desktop.

Is there a way to do a complete backup - to a USB harddrive, or maybe just to a local disk on the server (so I can just copy that backup file to my desktop)
