I've recently taken over support of a SME server 7.0.  One thing that I have recommended to this company is tighter security.  As a result, I've convinced them to move their accounting files to a new ibay and restrict access.

Here's my problem.  I set up the group, the ibay and associated permissions.  When I VPN at home under various ids, the group is recognized and all functions as I hoped it would.  However, the client's computer doesn't seem to have access eventhough I have confirmed that they have indeed authenticated using the id that should grant access.  He can still connect to the other shares, but those are open to everyone.

I am thinking that the problem resides on the client (windows)...can anyone help?

Thanks....

I take it once you have set the group to allow the user in the user has then logged off his windows machine then logged back in?

Yes.  I had him logoff then back on.  I also restarted SAMBA.  It's only his workstation, everyone else seem to have access.

Any ideas?
