hi,

We have an intermittent email problem. Here is a typical log entry

2006-10-10 13:47:03.808227500 delivery 400: failure: Connected_to_194.73.73.217_but_sender_was_rejected./Remote_host_said:_550_<phil@removedforprivacy.co.uk>..._Not_permitted/

We are sending all mail via our ISP who is BT.

Any ideas?

To me it looks like someone is trying to send mail for a domain it is not permitted to do so from your server... I might be wrong though.

According to dnsstuff the domain doesnt exist therefore no mail sent and returned...

E-mail Test Enter E-mail address or domain  ?
Are there problems sending mail to a user or domain?

on www.dnsstuff.com

You also may want to use email address rather than IP as it may not be the mail server address, but couldn't as you removed it
