Topic: Urgent Help!!!! Can't send out Email

Hi All,

  Just Install SME 7.0 and setup all the domain now i can't send email to one domain. I only host the web site but mail is hosting by their ISP.

When i try to send that to user i got NDR please let me know how to fix?

I think you will find the problem and be fixed by changing the ip of the "mail" entry for this domain in the host section in server-manager. You need to point it to your ISP mail server.

 I just setup this domain and use Internet DNS Server so no host created

You will have to change your domain to resolve locally. This changes how the domain is resolved for your network, not the internet. This will give you the host entries so you can change the mail address.

Just change as you said and try sending it again but same resualt i also point to ISP mail server.


but what i found there is no mx for mail.tanknology.com.au it's resolve like this

If you can, create an "A" record at your registrars called "mail" that points to the mail servers ip.

Before you come up with a solution, you need to properly understand the problem. I don't see that anyone has tried to do that.

You need to start by reading carefully the bounce message.

What did "ausnetit-gw" come from? Nobody seems to have pondered that question.

If we look in the body of the undelivered message, we see:
...
Delivered-To: alias-localdelivery-rcausey@tanknology.com.au
...
To: <rcausey@tanknology.com.au>
...

That means that the message was delivered via the .qmail file of the rcausey user of the tanknology.com.au server. But that wasn't a final delivery, because you received a bounce message.

I expect you will find that the mail of the rcausey user is being forwarded to rcausey@ausnetit-gw.ausnetit.com.au, and the forwarding is unsuccessful, because the usnetit-gw.ausnetit.com.au system says "Recipient unknown".

   My Server name is ausnetit-gw and there is a virtual domain called tanknology.com.au only for web hosting.

 The problem is i can't email to any users in that domain


   So how do i fixed or  please tell me what to do ?

Delete the domain tanknology.com.au and add www.tanknology.com.au.

Is this not in the FAQ? If not, it should be. Please open a bug in the  Bug Tracker, Documentation section.
