Wrong time in emails via web
« on: November 14, 2007, 05:54:44 AM »
I'm using roundcube and GroupOffice contribs, I just noticed that emails from these apps are always 1hr. behind.
I googled and found that
Quote
Whenever qmail needs to generate a timestamp, such as when adding a "Date:"
header to an email message, it uses Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) timestamps.
Most email clients know how to convert GMT into the local time zone, but
   some do not.

Even if I change the timezone within the application, it does not change my time.
Has anyone come across that and maybe have a cure?

Thanks,

Offline shell

Is this a daylight savings issue?  Some info on the net over a fix for this having been released,

http://trac.roundcube.net/ticket/1484156

might be the area you want to look for starting to resolve.
cheers, shell

Thanks for the reply Shell,
The fix you suggested relates to roundcube, I'm using the latest rc2 which I believe has been fixed.
I'm finding more and more of this as I progress, my server is in Brazil, South America. I travel a lot between North America and Europe as well and all regions I go takes me in different timezones.
I don't think the problem I posted above is true (relates to qmail), if I use a local application (evolution, thunderbird, etc.) this does not happen.
To sum all up, I still don't have an answer
I'll keep studying the problem...
