Setting up Cyrus-IMAP
« on: November 17, 2007, 02:27:21 AM »
I've just installed the Cyris IMAP server contribution from Jon Roberts on a fully updated latest version install of SME and I'm stuck at first base. I looked over the Server-manager panel and found that the installation routine had created users corresponding to each of my SME users and checked out stuff like ACLs, then I installed the Toltec connector trial version and set about configuring it to link an existing Outlook 2003 PST file's folder set to that user's IMAP folders in the server. So Tools, Options, Toltec Connector then tell it I want a new Message Store and choose the existing PST folders and move to the next dialogue. List my SME server and the standard username and password of the user and click Next. Then nominate the first data format Kolab-XML 2.x] and click next. I then get an authentication failure as follows...

     Connecting to 192.168.....
     IMAP4 server found
     STARTTLS successful
ERROR: No supported mechanism found to authenticate the user.

I'm obviously missing something. Anybody got any ideas what? Everyone else seems to get the thing to fly straight out of the box.

I've just found a mention of the fact that I need a trial licence key for the Toltec Connector - Why it didn't say that in the Toltec downloads area I can't imagine.
