After not being able to login to my server anymore neither as root nor as admin I have reset the password by using in to the single user mode at boot time. After that I rebooted my server and am now able to login again with root.
However I am still having trouble accessing SSL pages on my server, e.g. the server-manager and the webmail interface. The server-manager gives an access denied error even before prompting for a login, the webmail interface returns a login failed error. In my messages file I have found the following. The last things I have done before everything went wrong is installing and uninstalling sme-mldonkey (found somewhere in the forums) and mldonkey-backend (from atrpms).
When I try to access using ssh access for a non root user I am able to login but I receive the following error message:login as: jonathan

Although it states permission denied I am able to login as user jonathan using ssh.
It is also not possible to access the domain from a Windows XP system as the same user (jonathan).
As I cannot access the server-manager I don't know how to restire my backup... maybe someone had a suggestion for that so I can restore my backup which maybe might solve my problems.
From the messages log file I read the following, but it doesn't make things clearer to me... does someone have a suggestion what can possibly be wrong?
