Topic: Windows ME cant see users hidden share

Hi

My sister has an e-smith gateway installed at here office and she has just set up a system with Windows ME installed and it is logging on to the local domain OK but it isnt able to see or find the hidden shares

Is there some tweak that ME needs to get this to work or do I need to upgrade the SAMBA/E-smith

E-Smith is version 4.1.1

What "hidden" shares are you referring to?

Is she able to see any of the i-bays at all? Are other PCs on the same network working as expected, and what OS are they running?

As far as e-smith goes, you should really update to at least 4.1.2, as it addresses several older security issues. Of course, even better is 5.1.2
