samba group? -very confused
« on: December 13, 2006, 08:22:45 AM »
hi. the first time i set up an sme7 and enabled 'Domain Controller' and also 'Roaming Profiles' i ended up with a group called "samba" with description "roaming profiles".

the next time i set up a new machine with 'Domain Controller' and 'Roaming Profiles' there was no such group. then again on the third attempt.

so, i am wondering if i created this group by accident through constant experimentation and can't remember doing it or if this group should actually exist?

can someone please help me with this question because what i was assuming would be that when you create a new user, the option for group "samba" "roaming profiles" feels like it should be there?

this would obviously give you the choice about whether the new user has a roaming profile or NOT. hopefully someone can see my confusion here. look forward to a response - regards.

Difficult to understand, mainly due to my poor english, I can't guess what means "I ended up" : You have surrender ?
:D

It seems not to be a good idea to call a group "samba", why not "smb_grp" or whatever ?

Then, the option to choose roaming profiles in server-manager is all user wide, it can't be for a group.
May be we can go further but explain s-l-o-w-l-y what you need, and your level (is command-line familiar to you).
