Problems after installing dungog-getmail
« on: December 03, 2006, 02:59:23 PM »
Hi all,

I had installed dungog-multipop, dungog-email and dungog-domain. I installed dungog-getmail because it should be better.

It wasn't working for me because I couldn't retrieve mail what so ever.

So I remove dungog-getmail, but I still wasn't able to fetch mail at all.

Then I removed fetchmail and reïnstalled it again.

Mail is retrieving from my primairy account and from my 2 extra pop3 boxes (for my 2 virtual domains)  and I can see them in Thunderbird, but.....

Althoug the mail is delivered, SME-server send the follouwinga mail back:

Code: [Select]

To me it seems that the admin user is forwarded locally to the maillog user. Doe sthe maillog user exist? You failure message suggests that it does not.

Either disable the Bcc feature of qpsmtpd, or create the maillog user which you have told qpsmtpd to deliver copies of all mail to.

BTW, did "Recipient unknown" not mean anything to you?

I didn't report this problem via the Bug Tracker, because I don't think it was a bug. I saw it as a stupid action of me not knowing what I was doing.

"Recipient unknown" do mean something to me but all mail was delivered correctly in the proper mailboxes. So obviously the recipiants where "known".

I never enabled the "bcc" function, I even don't kow how to do that. So I think that it is done during the installation of getmail. I also don't know how I can disable this function.

Can you tell me how to I can disable the bcc function or how I can create a maillog user?

In that case, it would be a bug with the contrib. Please report it as a bug. It should all "just work". And it should prevent you from doing anything which doesn't work.

That's exactly what happens when you assign a bug, it goes to the vendor.
