Topic: Only the server & gateway control console

Hi,

installed 3.1 but I can't get trough the control console setup.

It's to bad that for testing purpose it's not possible to install next to other partitions.

The pdf-file is rotated 90 degrees ( am I doing someting wrong ?? ).

Is there support for ATI mobility P (DELL 7500) ? I like to try it on my laptop.

You don't say what is stopping you, so I can't really help you. The console setup process is changed a lot in the 4.0 beta - hopefully it is now easier to navigate. Since it sounds as though you are testing perhaps you should try out the beta release.

I don't know what "ATI mobility P" is, so I can't help you with that question. The hardware requirements of the e-smith server/gateway are quite modest and are documented on the www.e-smith.net web site.

The ATI mobility is the new ATi Gfx card for portable pc's.

Since e-smith doesn't have an X desktop by default there is no need for a Mobility driver. If you want to try Linux on your portable, then e-smith is probably NOT the ideal product as it is designed to be a server NOt a workstation product.

For workstations, try Corel Linux or Redhat.
