Hallo,
thank you for the answer.
In the meantime I have detected, that there is a compatibility problem among the “kernelcapi”, witch was installed from the SME Server image CD and the self compiled “fcdslsl” driver. As far as I can see, the “kernelcapi” comes either from SME, CentOS, Red Hat or Debian. Anyway!
A “modinfo kernelcapi” shows
vermagic: 2.6.9-42.0.3.EL 686 REGPARM 4KSTACKS gcc-3.4
and a “modinfo fcdslsl” shows
vermagic: 2.6.9-42.0.3.EL 586 REGPARM 4KSTACKS gcc-3.4
depends: kernelcapi
finally a “dmesg” shows
fcdslsl: version magic '2.6.9-42.0.3.EL 586 REGPARM 4KSTACKS gcc-3.4' should be '2.6.9-42.0.3.EL 686 REGPARM 4KSTACKS gcc-3.4'
It sounds strange: On my 586 EIPA board runs a 686 module without any problem (kernelcapi). The self compiled Fritz driver (fcdslsl), compatible to the 586 image, does not run, because the driver module depends on a 686 compatible kernel module (kernelcapi).
I can make nothing of it and have two questions:
Is it possible to get a native 586 “kernelcapi”? It seams, that “kernelcapi” depends on other 686 modules.
Is it possible to compile 686 codes, running on a 586 system and how to do?
At this point I will follow CharlieBrady’s hint and I will report the problem to the Bugzilla Bug Tracker (Bug 2252).
But it would be nice, if anyone can answer my questions.
Thanks.
