I have decided to ask if this is a bug before I post it to bugzilla.

When I went to server-manager software installer, there was a big list of available updates. But when it was done, it said 1 update complete. Is this a bug?  Below is a update info as it appeared on the screen:

I had the same, I don;t htink it is a bug, my guess is that the mirror you tried was half way it's update process.

Did you install the yum part first like syggested in the thread announcing the new release? If not please do so as this will enable switching between mirrors when one is unavailable or faulty.

If you already did you may try this as I solved this error yesterday running a manual update using:

smeserver-yum, yum and yum-plugin-fastestmirror were available as updates couple of weeks ago, so I already did update them then.
You can see this by the second line of the text I have attached: "Trying other mirror"
I have performed the code you have posted, but after update and reboot, no updates are shown. I will see tomorrow if they show up.

But I do not see it actually trying other mirrors....

I have performed the code you have posted, but after update and reboot, no updates are shown. I will see tomorrow if they show up.

Hopefully it will, maybe it will work faster than 24h as mirrors sync multiple times a day.

Looks like  cactus was right, the mirror might have not beeen updated. Today update went on without problems. One thing it did different from yesterday was a message that I did not see yesterday:

Been trying to update tot 7.1 from server-manager and issuing yum update --disablerepo=* --enablerepo=smeos --enablerepo=smeaddons --enablerepo=smeupdates, but it fails the same (even after # yum clean all)

It seems like you have kernel building rpms installed, which is not a good idea.

I'm certainly not an expert, i kind of get around...
However I use this server for everything in a 50 user organization for a year now and it performs almost flawlessly. I just had some problems with that certificate regeneration but fixed it thanks to the very active forums.
I installed various contribs, and i use them all, STILL I don't know how these packages got installed, probably as dependencies for some contrib.
I could provide you with a installed packages list, but from what I see every glibc-xxxx package is .i386, except glibc itself, which is .i686
Could this be my problem, or have I just made an a** out of myself??
Do you think I could remove glibc* from yum panel to solve this?

No. You can safely remove glibc-headers and glibc-devel only.

From the command line, you would do that via:

rpm -e glibc-headers glibc-devel

I have this same issue, and I tried your suggestion Charlie and I get the following. It is keeping from bringing my server to 7.1. Any ideas?

Yes, you don't want or need to have gcc installed. Do "rpm -e gcc" as well.

Charlie...perhaps you can enlighten me a little more. After removing all three and doing a signal-post and signal-reboot, when Irun yum again it has it cached or something like that. How do I flush that so it does a fresh yum update?

I had to dig a little and remove any glibxxx in order to finally get the yum update to not error out.
