Isn't there a way to setup PHPBB so there could be seperate groups for the different languages this board uses? Maybe that way I could opt out of the Different languages I cant read and may the section for SME6?

As far as I know phpbb doesn't have groups, I didn't search to see if there
was  a mod to do that thought.

The other day I did a search on another phpbb forum for 'net::ping'
which is technically one word.

3500+ posts returned either with net or ping but not  'net::ping'.

Ended up googling the same forum for it and at least google returned
6 post with 'net::ping'.

With that I would say the phpbb search is pretty much worthless and
that is why most newcomers can't find what their looking for.

BTW I also tried "net::ping" and recieved the same results, the search
parsed the line for net & ping.

Something is fundimentally wrong with the phpbb search function, it's worthless the way it is.

There is no search option for exact match search...!!

Also the old contribs site did a 1000X better job searching and it searched
the entire contribs site.

Someone a one time took some time to set that up and now it's gone.

Well out with the old and in with the new, even if the old worked a treat..!!

What a shame, someone's hard work down the drain.

Ha...I see said the bind man.

That might help the language search problem however I don't think it will.

I do believe the groups would have no awareness of languages.

Separate forums using the same DB works.

I understand your frustration, but the old system was a security nightmare. It had to go. Sorry.

With all due respect, I'll make believe you didn't make that statement.

I did make that statement, and I stand by it. I had to deal with the security issues.

I totally agree that the current seach is poor and needs to be fixed. But the old system could not continue.
