Hi all,

I keep getting this message when I try to log into the server's web based server-manager: -

502 Bag Gateway
The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server.

None of the users can save anything to the server either it keeps saying that the disk is full.

Any ideas, this is quite urgernt

Cheers

What is the output of the following command:
Code: [Select]
dfThis could prove Charlie's point :-)

Hey thanks guys for the suggestions, I was busy yesterday following all the threads in the links given by william_syd.

Anyway, here is the output of the df command: -
Code: [Select]

Filesystem    1K-blocks    Used       Available    Use%    Mounted On
/dev/mapper/main-root
                    8934144    8480308            0      100%      /
/dev/md1      101018         12770     83032        14%      /boot
none             127420                0   127420          0%     /dev/shm

There is only a 40GB IDE HDD in the system as the users don't hold that much data, I think all told between the 5 users they have about 2GB each. What is the partitioning scheme that SME use? I have done a search on the internet and cannot find anything.

Cheers

That don't look good.

Try df -h for my clarity.

OK here is the output of df -h: -

Code: [Select]

Filesystem    Size           Used       Available    Use%    Mounted On
/dev/mapper/main-root
                    8.6G          8.1G          5.1M        100%      /
/dev/md1       99M           13M           83M        14%      /boot
none             125M            0           125M          0%     /dev/shm

One question, why is the main partition only 8GB when there is a 40GB HDD in there? Weird!

Do you have other disks in the system? SME Server normally tries to configure RAID, that could mean that the smallest disk sets the limit for a bigger one.

I don't think there are any other drives in there. I didn't configure the server hardware wise to be honest. But saying that I will go and check the server.

OK, now that I know why the server ran out of disk space, is there anyway I can expand the size of the partition without loosing any of the data?

Not that I know of... but perhaps you can take out the 10Gb of slave and partition the empty part of the master hard drive and specify it as a mount point so you can use it. I am not such an expert on the RAID area :-(

Hi guys,

Thanks for all the help you gave, but we took out the 10GB HDD and replaced it with another 40GB. I know it is a radical move, but we copied the data that was on the partition off and reinstalled the server, they now have a very healthy 37GB RAID 1 mirror
