I Am having a senior moment!! can not remember if RS232 cable is the same as Null modem ??

Yep, nul modem just means (without going into the semantics) any rs-232 cable with the wires crossed..

Remember:pin 2 goes to 3 on the other end, 4 to 5 etc etc

If you are stuck I can even find the proper wiring for you.. or do a google..
