No, please do NOT think of this post being nagging!

This is contribs.org and we have smeserver.org. Can anybody at all make a statement about the contribs.org portal being restored as it was please?

Sure, there could be some (security) issues with the old site (sippets of code) but why is everybody kept into the dark and is the comfortable portal ripped away??

Maybe it's time to let the devs do their thing  and let others do the portal. After all, it takes completely different skills to make the best out of both areas.

We have finally had our new server installed and the conversion is being actively worked on. I hope that an announcement will come out soon (I'm not directly involved in the conversion).

I'm not at all comfortable with the current status. To have our presence reduced to a forum is a poor showing - I'm pretty sure we all agree on that.

However, the security issues were major and not just theoretical. We were actively attacked, on multiple occasions, through a myriad of holes. Attacks included defacement and injection of huge quantities of spam.

I totally agree. Please see my other thread. However, please remember that the devs are also the ones providing systems and security maintenance. We'd like not to, but it is the current reality.

ps. With gratitude and respect towards Ruffdogs, It was my understanding they are hosting and providing bandwidth on their secure platform for contribs.org (and maybe even smeserver.org).

SME Server Inc. does not speak of Ruffdogs, neither does contribs.org, so I am wondering what the deal is exactly.

Again, I am NOT trying to be a pain in the a**, but simply trying to understand what the situation is. I know (for a fact) what kind of a great and difficult job the devs are doing.

Thanks,
